The IAA is passionate about expanding the view of the next generation. We have two key initiatives that are designed to stretch thinking and provide opportunities for young people to interact with industry leaders.
IAA ‘Big Idea’
The International Advertising Association annual IAA ‘Big Idea’ is Australia’s only national marketing communications competition created for student teams from Australian universities and tertiary institutions with courses in advertising, marketing, media and communications. The competition fosters the professional development of the upcoming generation of communications practitioners, which is central to the IAA’s ongoing mission and commitment to education in the industry.
Initiated in 2003 the IAA ‘Big Idea’ competition aims to provide a hands-on, truly stimulating, career-ready learning experience for students, with a real client training project that will help to equip them for their future careers and internships in the communications industry.
IAA ‘Write your Future’
IAA ‘WRITE YOUR FUTURE’ Travel Scholarship is an professional development national competition conducted Australia-wide for young professionals 30 years of age and under, who are working and/or studying in marketing communications. It is held every two (2) years and the prize is an expenses paid trip for the winner to participate in the biennial IAA World Congress, the world’s premier marketing communications event. Hosted in a different country each time, the congress has previously been held in Washington DC, Moscow, Beijing and is to be hosted in Mumbai in 2018
